CurrentI am Chartered as both a Structural Engineer and a Civil Engineer and also qualified as a Conservation Accredited Engineer on the Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineers (CARE).I am a Technical Director in Thomasons' busy Manchester Office where I work primarily on historic buildings. Work ranges from refurbishments and extensions to investigation/reporting on defective buildings. My work with historic buildings requires a detailed understanding of how these building work, how they have behaved in their past and how they will adapt to modern usage.With over 36 years experience I frequently act as an Expert Witness on Civil and Structural matters.I have been involved for many years with the work of the Institution of Structural Engineers at both local level and at at Head Quarters where in addition to serving as Senior Vice President I serve on the Board and a number of committees.
