I graduated in 1993 from Meredith College, and 1994 as a Medical Technologist from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Throughout the years to follow, I experienced a variety of roles such as lab generalist, microbiology lead, blood bank manager, and stat lab supervisor. During several lead positions, I developed more knowledge and skills in lab information system’s build, maintenance, testing, and validation. I transitioned to an LIS analyst position in 2012 at a health system, then advanced to LIS Manager. My experience and knowledge has grown in lab system configuration, test plans and validations, writing system requirements and user stories, instrument connectivity and test mapping, middleware connectivity and configuration, point of care testing connectivity, and mobile device setup. I have experience in standards for following standards for CAP, JCAHO, and FDA within the laboratory, and have participated in CAP inspections. I love the laboratory science field, and how it is constantly making advances in technology, that not only brings more accurate diagnosis and treatments to patients, but also guidance and safe practices for my laboratory family!
