  After many years working as a clinician and manager within NHS Mental Health Services, I became freelance in 2001 to pursue my ongoing interests in international work. I now specialise in consultancy to international NGOs, the evaluation of mental health and psychosocial projects, and the design and facilitation of workshops/training on psychological and mental health issues in cross cultural contexts. I have worked in the The Gambia, Uganda, Lesotho, Ghana, Liberia, Jordan and Gaza. My most recent work has been supporting UNHCR staff in South Sudan. Understanding the actual reality of people's daily life and highlighting our common humanity across cultures is a driving feature of all my work.
