Jane Gowans is a Scottish contemporary jewellery designer. Graduating with a first class honours degree in Jewellery & Metal Design, Jan established her jewellery brand in 2010.Gowans’ sculptural work is led by her personal fascinations and underpinned by a commitment to British craftsmanship, experimenting with cutting edge and traditional design processes.Each collection holds distinct aesthetic and story, bound by Gowans’ tactile signature style alongside her central fascination with sequences. Taking her inspiration from the everyday, she makes the ordinary extraordinary. Seemingly humble matchsticks, rock structures, rope and compass points have been transformed into burnished pieces to be treasured and enjoyed. To create her collections Jane explores the fusion of new technology and traditional techniques. The pieces are made using the finest semi-precious stones and sterling silver in black oxidised silver, 18kt gold vermeil and silver finishes. Celebrating the quality and heritage of British craftsmanship, each piece is made exclusively in Britain, hallmarked in Edinburgh and hand finished by Jane herself in Dundee.

Part time tutor at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. Working with the head of department to deliver design modules in the Jewellery and Metal design department.
