Moved back to Georgia and still loving the retired life, being able to spend more time with family and friends. Also love riding and taking care of my horse who is boarded at a nearby stable.

My responsibilities included administrative processing support for recruitment activities of attorneys and clerical staff; resolution of payroll problems, and preparation of various personnel reports and personnel action requests, i.e. promotion, resignation, retirement, termination, name change, etc. I secured appropriate training for staff and/or conducted training activities; I was also the point of contact for attorney and administrative staff in the interpretation of federal regulations pertaining to the personnel area, i.e. performance awards, sick and annual leave, disciplinary actions. I prepared personnel requests for vacancy announcements, ranked applicant packages submitted and determined the best qualified for referral and interview by the hiring official.

I held various positions over my 20 year career with the Office for Civil Rights. I began in the secretarial area and advanced to varying administrative positions. In the early 80's, I began my management career as an Administrative Officer. My responsibilities included personnel matters such as recruitment, payroll matters, problem resolution and interpretation of federal regulations, and I secured training for office staff as needed, I was responsible for preparation and submission of the annual budget request and administration of funds received from the Washington HQ office. I ensured that the office had adequate supplies and oversaw relocation activities of both people and physical relocations of the office itself.
