CurrentAs a nursing unit manager at BE Smith, I oversaw the financial, service, and quality aspects of a 10-bed trauma ICU. I also ensured high standards of clinical outcomes, quality improvement, and employee and patient satisfaction.During my interim leadership, I achieved the following key accomplishments:• I led and motivated outstanding healthcare teams, ensuring high staff morale and professionalism. As a the result, I improved the employee retention rate by 23%.• Working with unit leadership, we decreased the vacancy rate by 23% and eliminated the need for agency staff, saving costs and enhancing the quality of care.• Improved the productivity of the trauma unit from 82% to 98.2%, meeting the organizational goals and standards.• To address the educational need for novice nursing financial management, I worked with the finance director to develop and share a PowerPoint presentation on nursing productivity and financial management. This presentation is available on the University of Louisville Hospital website and is used for nursing leadership training.• I established a shared governance council within the trauma unit, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and empowerment among staff members.
