I have had the sheer joy of working with some wonderful people over the last 20 or so years, where my career has spanned a variety of fields such as direct sales, event management, office management, business development and start-ups, recruitment and marketing. I love to listen - and I'll be the first to admit I didn't always do it properly. It's a skill that I've learned to really embrace and being able to truly listen to what someone is saying (or not saying) can be exceptionally powerful. So my profile shows where I've worked and what my key duties were; in amongst there we have a failed business which taught me more about myself than I actually thought I wanted to know; career gaps that are when we had our two boys; jobs that brought the best out in me and jobs that, well, let's just say they built character.I have been trusted to develop business concepts and turn them into a profitable reality; taken static sales activities and rejuvenated teams; found nursing jobs in the UK for medical staff from Spain; believed in myself when the odds seemed stacked against me and honed the below key skills as a result:• Client Management•

DirectorFarnon & Lake Jun 2017 - May 2020United KingdomI worked closely with our client network to understand their requirements for auctions as well as the private brokerage sales we undertook. My role focused on Business Development, predominantly seeking opportunities to expand our portfolio of clients and buyers. I worked with a number of artists, sculptors and creative organisations, exploring private sales as well as exhibition opportunities. Behind the scenes I managed the auction platforms that we utilised for our live and online events, including ensuring all items were correctly listed, photographed and, ultimately, correctly invoiced for. We ran two platforms simultaneously to ensure a broad audience reach and these communicated with our accounting systems to give accurate VAT listing and coding. The Farnon & Lake website was under my remit and I regularly updated the links for each auction and enabled our clients to access specific items as well as communicate directly with the team from the online portal. I also oversaw our social media presence on a daily/weekly basis.

Key collaborations with industry peers were also established, giving Aynhoe Park the opportunity to reach key audiences through shared networking events. The house has a strong reputation within the events industry and this fixed-term contracted period of work has enabled it to engage with a new audience and expand into the HNW arena.
