The Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association (DHFLA) provides no interest loans to Jewish individuals, couples, families and small business owners. DHFLA loans assist members of the Greater North Texas Jewish community with adoption and fertility, education debt consolidation, emergency and general needs, healthcare, higher education, Jewish burials and experiences, small business and special needs.Accomplishments To Date:Grown agency assets 14% from $1.54 million to over $1.84 million.Increased total number of loans assisting members of the community in need by 16% and increased total dollar amount of loans outstanding (loan receivables) by 42% from $810,481 to almost $1.4 million.Implemented payment modification and forbearance policies for struggling clients which reduced delinquencies to less than 2% of the total loan portfolio and nearly eliminated write-offs. Raised over $620,000 in donations from individual and foundations to date to support agency growth. Developed new Jewish burial loan program in partnership with a supporting donor and agency board. Launched annual Zeroes are Heroes fundraising and board and community outreach event that has grown year-over-year for the past three years in attendance, dollars raised and interest in joining the agency board of directors.Developed updated website and social media presence in partnership with third-party web development firm. Updated agency bylaws, policies and procedures in partnership with the board of directors, and instituted operational policies and procedures where none existed to strengthen and professionalize agency operations and management.
