The Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association (DHFLA) provides no interest loans to Jewish individuals, couples, families and small business owners. DHFLA loans assist members of the Greater North Texas Jewish community with adoption and fertility, education debt consolidation, emergency and general needs, healthcare, higher education, Jewish burials and experiences, small business and special needs.Accomplishments To Date:Grown agency assets 14% from $1.54 million to over $1.84 million.Increased total number of loans assisting members of the community in need by 16% and increased total dollar amount of loans outstanding (loan receivables) by 42% from $810,481 to almost $1.4 million.Implemented payment modification and forbearance policies for struggling clients which reduced delinquencies to less than 2% of the total loan portfolio and nearly eliminated write-offs. Raised over $620,000 in donations from individual and foundations to date to support agency growth. Developed new Jewish burial loan program in partnership with a supporting donor and agency board. Launched annual Zeroes are Heroes fundraising and board and community outreach event that has grown year-over-year for the past three years in attendance, dollars raised and interest in joining the agency board of directors.Developed updated website and social media presence in partnership with third-party web development firm. Updated agency bylaws, policies and procedures in partnership with the board of directors, and instituted operational policies and procedures where none existed to strengthen and professionalize agency operations and management. Expanded agency service to meet the needs of Jewish community members in smaller communities north, south and east of Greater Dallas. Strengthened partnerships with other Dallas Jewish community agencies to increase client referrals, giving and support of larger community and Israel initiatives.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Established Texas regional office, 9-member board of directors and governance policies. Created regional strategy to raise $510,000 in collaboration with Dallas board, national office and University.Engaged over 400 people through 30 events in the work of Hebrew University. 80% of participants connected with the University for the first time.Initiated partnerships for the Hebrew University with 2 Top 100 universities in Texas. Built partnerships with regional organizations such as Texas-Israel Alliance, Consul General of Israel, AWARE, and Texas Water Foundation to name a few.Secured position on state water advisory panel for dean of agriculture school. Dean advised Texas legislature on water resource management and was featured speaker at water conference at the Texas State Capitol. Built over 200-member regional alumni organization. Developed foundation outreach strategy including research and solicitation. Increased engagement of existing donors and partners through stewardship and relationship management.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Delivered $21,000 savings through elimination of ineffective member connection platform. Led cross-functional team in the evaluation of product including benchmarking, Voice of Customer collection, data analysis and solution testing.Increased participation of young couples in Jewish life by applying lifecycle marketing concepts to create award-winning constituent engagement programs--61% of participants became members, 35% assumed congregational leadership positions, 80% became active in synagogue programming. Directed more than 350 participants in over 40 small groups. Initiated new group formation strategies. Secured over $40,000 in grants from local foundations to develop and test strategies to engage unaffiliated Jewish and Jew-ish people in Dallas and new parents and interfaith couples struggling to have healthy conversations about faith. Welcomed 25-30 students per year to Judaism through updated conversion program including revising curriculum, recruiting teachers and mentors, and redesigning process. Managed and mentored engagement staff and 30+ volunteer leaders and committee members.
