I am an accomplished lawyer with expertise and experience in compliance and ethics, litigation, risk management, government and internal investigations, due diligence, crisis management, corporate governance, conflicts of interest, information security, privacy, and art law. I served as a federal prosecutor in the SDNY for ten years, handling complex white-collar financial crime prosecutions. Most recently, I was a member of the executive leadership team of Sotheby’s in the position of EVP, Chief Global Compliance Counsel, where I successfully built and expanded an effective and best-in-class, comprehensive global compliance program in the highly competitive and volatile international market for art and high value goods and asset backed financial services. I have held a leadership role as Board member for a non-profit health care organization. I have worked in higher education, having taught for the past 16 years at Columbia Law School as an adjunct and more recently an Advisory Board member for NYU Law's Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement. I bring a rare 360 perspective perspective to problems and questions derived from private practice with two leading global law firms, government service as a federal prosecutor, and more than a decade as a senior management in-house attorney. I have a proven track record of being a being an effective and trusted leader and advisor to the management teams and Boards I have supported. I am a recognized authority on global compliance, creating cultures of integrity, and art law.
