One Nickel Coworking and Office Suites mission is to provide an office environment with state of the art technology and business tools in great locations and at reasonable prices. One Nickel members are a group of like minded entrepreneurs, professions, makers, and educators. One Nickel LLC is also the parent company of my consulting business. I have 30 years of experience in retail small business, 5 years of "Big Box" retail experience and 10 years of experience in Micro Economic Development and Commercial Corridor Management. Jane R. Lipton is the Executive Director of the Manayunk Development Corporation (MDC), a community development corporation with approx. 100 members. She also serves as the de facto Executive Director of the Manayunk Special Services District, the sister organization of MDC. These two organizations have a primary goal of promoting economic development in the Manayunk Section of Philadelphia. Jane is a founding board member of the Manayunk Development Corporation, a Pennsylvania 501C3 nonprofit. She owned her own retail business for 20 years, is PA licensed realtor, and has a BA in Communications from Temple University. Jane accepted the position of Executive Director of MDC and MSSD in late 2009. The Manayunk Development Corporation (MDC) was formed in 1992 as a nonprofit corporation with a primary business economic development mission and a cooperating community development mission. MDC takes primary responsibility for the management, promotion, and positive business development of the Main Street business district. As a community development corporation, MDC cooperates with other civic and community organizations in the Manayunk area to plan and carry out community programming and physical improvement projects of interest to both businesses and residents in Manayunk. Jane is also the President and CEO of One Nickel LLC which operates One Nickel Coworking and Canteen Works at 4323 Main Street, in Manayunk Philadelphia. She a Licensed PA Real Estate Sales Agent and was the General Partner of Lipton Management LLC a real estate Management Company. Jane also lectures and consults on Economic Development Issues. Her expertise includes Retail Strategies, Branding, Creation of Walkable Urban and Downtown Districts, Commercial Corridor Revitalization, Business Improvement District Formation and Management, and Strategic Planning.
