Incepting, renewing and endorsing all commercial policies, such as property, liabilityand motor. Making and receiving calls from brokers regarding general queries on theproducts and discussing new business opportunities. Within this role I also take on anaccount manager role for a handful of brokers. This involves visiting the brokers andtaking into account what kind of service they need & how they want it delievered.

Setting up new risks for clients using our panel of insurance brokers under a delegatedunderwriting authority. Renewing, amending and processing existing risks also. Speaking toclients, brokers and insurance companies via email and telephone for enquires, new andexisting.

Setting up new risks and renewing existing business. Discussing risks with clients overthe phone and contacting insurance companies to arrange cover. Dealing with a widerange of commercial insurances, including liabilities, let property, fleet, motor trade,marine and legal expenses.

Within this role I also liaise withcolleagues across the group in order to help to set up new products and organise trainingopportunities. I have also been responsible for training new staff and apprenticeunderwriters.

Incepting, renewing and endorsing all commercial motor policies, including Fleet,Agricultural vehicles and Special Type vehicle policies. Making and answering callsfrom brokers regarding general queries on the products and discussing new businessopportunities. I also stayed in India for 3 months carrying out training for our offshoredepartment in amendments to commercial motor polices.

Taking calls from customers with regards to reporting new claims and chasing up onexisting claims. I would deal with all queries chasing down other departments such asunderwriting and claims inspectors.

Inputting all existing policies onto a new system, no telephone contact. Around 6 monthsinto this job I was transferred to help the commercial underwriting team. This roleincluded a lot of admin work and additional training to become an underwriter.

This was a decision made as it was something that I had wanted to do for a long timeand after finding someone who also wanted to do this, we took a year out and travelledaround the U.S.A.Next
