Handbags That Help is a women’s giving circle dedicated to building strong families and increasing philanthropy in Hancock County. HTH collectively funds significant grants to charitable projects and programs in our community.

The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership (BRWP) seeks to address problems and concerns that affect the health of the Blanchard River watershed and educate all citizens to the dynamics of the Blanchard River and its tributaries.

• NWO Teams Workshop facilitator, a science professional development program (2010–2012).• Adjunct professor, Ashland University (2009–2011)• Ohio Improvement Process facilitator• Collaborated with the Ohio Department of Education in the development of the 2002 Ohio Science Standards• Past member of the Prescription Drug Task Force• Collaborated with the Obesity Task Force Committee• Assisted in the development and implementation of a multi-county high school marine science program, Project Oceanus, which culminates in a field trip to the Florida Keys for the in-depth study of marine habitats.• Conducted staff development workshops at Miami University, and for the Henry County Soil and Water Conservation District.• Conducted pre-service teacher mathematics and science presentations/workshops for The Ohio State University-Lima, The University of Findlay, and The University of Bluffton.• Provide professional development for 545 Hancock County Teachers• Received grants totaling over $600,000.00 for Hancock County Schools from 1997-2012• Designed and implemented mathematics, science, and reading professional development for Hancock County Teachers• Facilitated K-12 courses of study development and textbook adoption process• Responsible for K-12 teachers on curriculum alignment to Ohio Standards and data analysis• Former secretary of Ohio School Supervisor's Association

- Co-developed a highly successful inter-county language arts enrichment program, The Cory-Rawson English Festival, for students in grades 5-8. The program served up to 300 students. Responsibilities included: generating funds from local corporations; coordinating publicity with television and newspapers; assisting in the design and production of over 3,000 informational brochures; and coordinating a staff of over 50 volunteers. - Received grant funding for approximately $26,000 from such prestigious organizations as the Ohio Arts council, The Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, the L. Dale Dorney Fund, and Ohio State University. - Compiled a bound book of outdoor education learning activities for the Ohio State University Science Teaching Partnership Project. - Successfully conducted presentations for BGSU and Miami University, and for the state conventions of the Buckeye Association of Superintendents and Administrators, the Ohio Council of Teachers of English and Language Arts, the Martha Holden Jennings Conference, the National Center for Science Teaching and Learning, SECO, and the Northwest Ohio Educational Technology Foundation. - Conducted a needs assessment and implemented a plan of action for the improvement of science education at Cory-Rawson. - Created stimulating lessons for 130 students each year during teacher career of 24 years.
