Family, Juvenile and Criminal law attorney. Gives sound legal advice to clients & representing them in litigation. For 18-years has developed pragmatic solutions to the needs of clients by having a thorough & common sense approach to legal matters.Legal Duties:• Primary responsibility to serve as counsel to court appointed & retained clients as a defense attorney in juvenile delinquency, abuse neglect, misdemeanor & felony cases.• Serve as Guardian ad Litem for young children, teenagers & adults in Juvenile Court proceedings.• Served as Guardian ad Litem for approximately 40 Juvenile Drug Court clients.• Work with case professionals including Opposing Counsel, County Attorneys, Probation Officers & Case workers to procure my clients the best chance of meeting and exceeding their goals. • Scouring police reports, custodial interrogations, interview transcripts, medical records & other facts to develop the client’s case.• Advising colleagues, legal & probation on legal matters, suggesting the most prudent, profitable courses of action.• Attending hearings as counsel, defense attorney & guardian ad litem.• Presenting evidence in court to support clients in legal proceedings.• Shaping a client's expectations on what can be realistically achieved.• Advising clients on their legal rights & obligations.• Getting to know clients & developing & maintaining relationships with them.• Researching precedents to provide a defense for my clients.• Visiting defense & guardian ad litem clients at their homes, placements or jail/prison .• Drafting legal documents like appellate briefs, motions, writs, complaints, etc.• Promoting in & out of court settlements.• Preparing arguments to be heard in a trial.• Interviewing witnesses, defendants & clients.• Appearing before the Nebraska Court of Appeals & Supreme Court on briefs & oral arguments.• Giving support, recognition & rewards to junior staff.

Involved in all aspects of defense work at the county, district and juvenile court level.
