I am a Senior Biologist at Health Canada. My expertise is in Molecular Biology, Epigenetics, Cancer Biology, Development, Stem Cells, Immunotherapy and Microbiology & Immunology. I have lead multiple projects from small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) and its dependence on autocrine growth loops, to epidermoid tumor immunotherapy, the Retinoic Acid Receptor Beta 2 (RARB2) tumor suppressor gene and its role in lung, breast and colorectal cancers, to stem cell re-engineering, placental trophoblast invasiveness, and the MultiDrug Resistance 1 (MDR1) gene. More recently, I have been really motivated by risk assessment work to protect human health and the environment under CEPA (the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999). I am driven by a strong desire to make advances that are tangible and meaningful.
