Since 2016 I have served as the Rutgers Director of the State of New Jersey Certified Public Manager Program administered by the NJ Civil Service Commission. In this role I have met hundreds of noble public servants from an array of public and nonprofit agencies. My work has recently pivoted to include both online and in person executive education. I oversee curriculum development, program evaluation, student recruitment, hiring and training co-adjunct faculty, building relationships with public agencies and nonprofit organizations, budget administration, and planning an annual graduation ceremony. Prior to working at Rutgers, I spent 20 years in the field of youth development focusing on out-of-school time opportunities. My experience included nonprofit and government employment as well as my own business- Sharp Ideas LLC. I managed multiple projects involving program development, staff training, evaluation, grant writing, and resource allocation. During this time I became passionate about including children with special needs in typical settings and continue to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of my work and personal life.Outside of work I have held leadership positions in a variety of nonprofit boards including Alumni Organizations for Rutgers and Miami Universities, a public school education foundation, and started a nonprofit curling club. Curling has provided me a world of friendships, travel, competition, and fun. Most recently I am the chair of an Arena Club Working Group for the USA Curling Association and volunteer my time to promote curling across the US.
