Bit of Hope Ranch has always wanted to grow, but didn't really know how. I'll be responsible for creating a workable database from which I'll target major gift donors. Board development is also high on my list of priorities. It's exciting to know I'll be making a real difference for them.And since they conduct several special events, I'll be digging into my memory to improve their approach and revenue. It's like riding a bike - I'm surprised at how much I remember. Wish me luck!

Retired, but not fully retired. I want to assist nonprofits with their major gift and legacy giving programs on a project basis. Additionally, I really enjoy coaching new development staff. Entering the field of nonprofit fundraising can be daunting. I want to give them the tools to be successful.

Responsible for managing the 2023 Carter Work Project coming to Charlotte in October 2023. This event will bring over 700 volunteers daily to the city where Habitat for Humanity Charlotte Region will build over 20 homes in 5 days.

Created major gift program in its entirety by assessing current donor gift levels vs actual donor capacity.Continuing to create cultivation strategies and stewardship plans that will lead to successful solicitations.Created donor ranking system by determining linkage and interest in Thompson along with capacity for determined gift level.Work closely with board in all phases of program from introductions to cultivation including solicitations.Created monthly donor communications to foster deeper involvement with Thompson.Continually work with other departments to develop sense of teamwork which has led to positive engagement in the major gift process.Worked closely with CEO and Chief Development Officer regarding gift strategies and board recruitment.Currently developing Planned Giving program to augment the major gift program.Currently mentoring new development staff to properly identify major gift prospects from annual giving program.

Assessed all aspects of chapter activities including special events, sponsorships, individual gift strategies, volunteer involvement and financial processes. Implemented improvements as necessary to create more accountability from staff, board members and volunteers. Created new system for forecasting and budgeting to assist incoming CEO. Provided coaching and mentoring to existing staff. Strong emphasis in creating a new team atmosphere by breaking down established silos particularly as it related to three offices in secondary markets. Provided incoming CEO with overall chapter assessment and suggested best practices and assisted with transition.

Responsible for implementation of fundraising and board development strategies to improve the revenue of this under performing area. Created region's first corporate partnership that included both special events and patient programs. As a result of these efforts, corporate sponsorship increased by 30% and individual and board giving each increased by 100%.Responsibilities included creating and implementing five year strategic plan, coaching and mentoring development staff, creating stewardship program for individual gifts, streamlining administrative systems, identifying and training high level volunteers to act as ambassadors to improve outreach, and developing relationships with local media.

Responsible for design and implementation of chapter's $2.5 million budget, board of trustee recruitment in primary and secondary markets, individual giving cultivation, corporate and volunteer relationships and overall leadership and mentoring of staff.

Managed staff of eight under the guidance of the executive director. Assisted board of trustees in implementation of strategic plan, designed new internal reporting system, increased corporate sponsorships and developed new relationships with local media.

Responsible for design, marketing and execution of three major fundraising events that accounted for 50% of chapter's budget. Created chapter-wide corporate sponsorship proposal resulting in a 95% increase in sponsorship in one year. Improved volunteer engagement for one fundraising event resulting in 78% growth over a three year period.
