Jane Whitty is a Managing Director, Consulting Partnerships at Capacity Interactive. Colleagues describe her as "Jane Whitty and I first met while I searched for intelligent interns who could work independently at The Antaeus Company. Interns are hard to manage. They don't really have to be there if they aren't receiving credit, and often the best-intentioned volunteers fall off simply by a lack of discipline and desire to be there. Jane treated our work together as a job: she was always clear on when she could work, always told me ahead of time if there was a conflict, jumped right into the work no matter the circumstances and provided amazing results in her tasks. While working a full-time job, Jane's internship was during evening hours, many times in the office while I was in the theater teaching class. That office doubles as a second dressing room while in performance, and Jane's professional and friendly nature extended to everyone involved in that production, while never ceasing her work-flow. Jane just understood my intent with projects. I never received a project back from her that wasn't nearly exactly the result I wanted. I rarely supervised her while she worked, and was always impressed with the questions she asked. Jane's inquiries show a critically thinking mind, always seeing it from all angles. Yet she somehow managed to convey this in the most efficient manner, and discuss ideas that I hadn't thought entirely through. Her partnership with my producing partner on Voices From Chornobyl and I has completely restructured my work-flow, allowing me to be a director and playwright and not a company or office manager. I trust Jane to take the right approach to her varied subjects, and take the reins on much of our PR and Outreach. Now that our team has grown from three to five, Jane has taken on an even more important role, and easily welcomed the new help and completely understanding how her role had shifted to more of a managing one. I'm excited to see her work on this project as our team expands.This work is all still volunteer. Jane just needs to be around art; she really enjoys the atmosphere and creative energy and wants to be part in whatever way suits her skills the best. When she told me she wanted to pursue Arts Administration, I desperately wished we could fast-forward to when Jane had her Master's. I want to be the person to introduce her to the nonprofit that so desperately needs a Managing Director with exactly what Jane offers.
