JANE WOOLLEY Dance Educator & Yoga Teacher. Director of Yoga Move DanceJane is a dance educator who has worked in the dance sector for 20 years. She trained at Trinity Laban focusing on education and participatory dance and has an MA from London Contemporary Dance School specializing in creative practice, somatics and dance pedagogy. She has extensive teaching experience across both formal education and community settings working with all ages and abilities from pre-school to older adults. She has played a key role in developing education resources and workshop programmes in the area of Dance Heritage, and has created A Level resources and nationally accredited dance awards. She has worked for Rambert for many years and is currently the Artistic Director of their older adults’ performance group, Mercury Movers. Jane has taught across the full spectrum of educational settings from primary schools to secondary schools (GCSE, Btec and A Level) and extensively at university level. As a freelance lecturer, Jane has 15 years experience teaching in a range of London universities (Roehampton, Kings College London, Kingston University and Brunel) delivering on the BA & MA modules in the field of Participatory Dance, Teaching & Leading, Professional Practice and Dance for Health. Her research interests lie in the area of dance pedagogy and dance and wellbeing. She is currently working as a consultant for Dance West evaluating the benefits of dance for older adults.As an independent dance artist, she has taught for many renowned dance companies including Hofesh Shetcher, English National Ballet, Richard Alston and Cullberg Ballet. As a dance education consultant she has created education resources for Russell Maliphant, Jasmin Vardimon and Shobana Jeyasingh. In the role of Dance Development Manager at South East Dance (2001-11), she established and directed the nationally acclaimed B&H Youth Dance Company and developed a diverse participatory dance programme working with inclusive groups, vulnerable families and young people at risk.As a natural evolution of her research into of the wellbeing benefits of creative movement, Jane completed a two-year Yoga Teacher Training Diploma at The Life Centre London. She is Director of her company Yoga Move Dance www.yogmovedance.com which delivers specialist yoga sessions focusing on Teen Yoga (teaching regular classes in several London Schools), Yoga for Sport, corporate yoga and one to one sessions for specific health conditions and injury rehabilitation.
