Overall responsibility for the development stage of Strategy Deployment, working across the Executive Team, Clinical Divisions and Corporate Directorates to ensure a smooth and effective process.Working closely with key stakeholders to ensure that they are fully engaged in the development and understanding of the Trust’s strategic direction.Supporting other Trusts who are engaged in the UHSussex Patient First Academy.Business Partner to a group of Clinical Divisions, providing support and assurance across a range of strategy and planning functions.Project management of major Strategic Initiatives, such as the reconfiguration of Stroke Services in West Sussex.Supporting on the annual Business Planning cycle, identifying service developments and capital requirements, coordinating trust wide and prioritising through the Strategic Filter.

Responsible for the national delivery oversight of key operational standards. Design and drafting of reports, submissions and briefings using hard and soft data sources with supporting commentary for a variety of stakeholders, from Secretary of State, to Board and internal management. Regularly respond to high priority ad hoc requests from national directors, including parliamentary questions and briefings for Health Select Committees, often to challenging deadlines.Working on national planning rounds and the NHS Long Term Plan deliverables.Project management of key national priorities to improve performance and outcomes by bringing internal and external colleagues together, including:• Delivery of the national A&E patient survey in partnership with a leading research firm to inform critical winter planning.• Launch of the Length of Stay ambition and metrics, including creation of Tableau dashboard and PTL to support appropriate earlier discharge for patients. • Chairing a cross-functional team to review Clinical Streaming counting guidance to ensure consistency across England. • Secondment from October 2019 to January 2020 - Winter Operational Delivery (WOD) - working directly to the National Director of Delivery and Operations to create the plan for winter 2019/20 in response to challenging performance across a number of areas.

Working directly to the National Director of Delivery and Operations to run the PMO function for the national contract to work with the Independent Sector in partnership to access their capacity, staff and equipment to support the initial COVID response and recovery of critical services.

Worked to develop the strategy and operationalise private services within the trust through working with NHS operations teams, creating robust business cases, while working to develop and implement the marketing plan, resulting in income growth that was then reinvested into the trust. Managed the development of self-pay, insured and international embassy business for the trust through the management of the International Patients’ Office, the management of private medical insurer activity and income and the creation and costing of self-pay activity. Created a portfolio of referrers to grow activity and income while spreading risk through diversification.Project management, including implementation of the major regulatory changes to private healthcare reporting and information sharing in the UK (www.PHIN.org.uk). Managed Credit Control to ensure the trust’s debt position from private patient activity was actively managed and minimised.

Project management of income generating and service improvement projects in the largest NHS Private Patient Unit in England. Led on Business Planning and identified additional income revenue streams. Created robust business cases that delivered income per annum and obtained capital funding for redevelopment, resulting in additional capacity and better patient experience. Managed the Systems, Coding and International Relations teams, along with interim management of Credit Control and Contracts.

Mmanaged the Billing team in the largest NHS Private Patient Unit in England to ensure timely and accurate billing of circa £60m per annum. Liaised with patients and handled sensitive financial complaints regarding cancer treatment and billing. Coordinated Business Planning within the Private Care division.

Worked in a number of NHS Trusts to identify and solve a wide variety of issues around performance and cost improvement, along with the organisation design and costing for the merger of three London Trusts.
