Jane has managed a portfolio of commercial residential properties since 1997.As a licensed attorney since 1987, she successfully negotiated settlement of, or took to trial, complex divorce cases including contested child custody as well as income and property issues. She also drafted prenuptial contracts, trusts and wills. Jane served the Alameda County Superior Court as a Judicial Arbitrator, and as a Mediator helped many families and businesses resolve difficulties. She also frequently wrote papers and gave seminars on financial planning and taxation, and marital dissolution. Jane helped establish Family Court Services in every California county by working with a group of 15-20 other Alameda County volunteer attorneys to show the courts that providing free basic services to families saved court time, thereby reducing public expense and domestic violence.Prior to her career as an attorney, she was an educator. She served A New Leaf (formerly Prehab)--a multi-campus residential school for emotionally disturbed teens--as Director of Education from 1978-1980. While there she coordinated curriculum with Mesa Public Schools to facilitate easy transfer of credits from the private agency to the public school, making high school graduation more likely. Jane also wrote grants that increased the education budget by 15% year-on-year.While completing her Masters in Special Education, Jane taught school at Indian Hills School, a private school in Phoenix, Arizona , and was a teacher on the Child Psychiatric Unit of Arizona State Hospital.Jane is licensed to serve the California, Federal District and United States Supreme Courts. She was an officer of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee of the California Tax Bar (1990-1995) and chaired that committee 1994-5. Currently Jane works with N2N (Neighbor to Neighbor), a group of Oregon mediators that serve Linn and Benton county courts and assist members of the public in resolving disputes on a volunteer basis.
