An accidental leader of 140 beautiful humans, based in regional Australia.After falling in love with a farmer, I found myself living a long way from the bright lights of the city where my education and career in Commerce and Technology was more aligned. It was a matter of 'evolve or perish' and the small clothing business that I adopted in 2004 and our team, of then 5, launched online in 2008 has grown to serve women across Australia and beyond. You can imagine the steep learning curve in that time - the biggest being the leadership challenge and coming to the realisation that my most important role as ‘big bird’ was to build community and nurture our culture (we call our BIRDSONG), creating the right soil for our organisation and team to thrive within. We often measure our careers on the outside progressions we achieve and can observe in LinkedIn, however the transitions happen on the inside and, for me, are still a work in progress!I do feel like the luckiest girl in the world, living on a sheep farm with my farmer and three children (the slow lane) and having a stimulating career and opportunity to have an impact, hopefully a good one (in what would normally be described as the fast lane!).
