Reporting to the Executive Vice President & General Manager, I was responsible for operational management of a $7 billion business through the planning and execution of strategies and initiatives that drove business unit performance, increased effectiveness, and facilitated an innovative work environment:• Provided decision support involving analysis and review of alignment / priorities of different and often conflicting options and sometimes contradictory business needs. Responsible for all financial aspects of this approximately 300-person global department. Wrote the annual budgets for all departmental cost centers; calculated and submitted monthly operating forecasts, operating accruals, and capital accruals. Coordinated all financial aspects of two large-scale departmental IT projects. Tracked monthly departmental spending against the approved budget.Headcount management: tracked / reconciled Full Time Equivalents against authorized headcount, and developed tracking mechanisms for vacancies, recruiting, and headcount allocation. Developed and implemented (in conjunction with Human Resources) the first approved Flexible Work Arrangement program for the departmentParticipated on numerous project teams. Of note, led the first GSSE Business Continuity Team and the team that created the first departmental web site on the corporate intranet.

Drove the development of the systems listed below. These systems were the first of their kind for Wyeth, and I managed to get them built without funding.1. Regulatory-compliant on-line repository for policy and procedure manuals.2. Electronic corporate communication and notification function (still known as the FYI Program), including distribution list development and maintenance.3. Electronic distribution, access, and control of organization charts.4. Electronic access to Wyeth forms.Participated on the Sales Force Automation project team, which provided the first laptops to the Wyeth sales forces. Served on the Internet/Intranet Policies and Procedures Team, which established and implemented guidelines for building websites on the first Wyeth corporate intranet. These and other roles and projects were completed while successfully managing the day-to-day responsibility of ensuring the accuracy and freshness of 13 Company policy / procedure manuals.
