• Made to Engage is a top Belfast digital agency. My role involves managing company comms and devising/running multi-channel campaigns for major clients. My responsibilities include:
• Devising and executing communications strategies and campaigns under pressure of tight deadlines and targets – for example, my ‘Are You Ready?’ social media campaign rapidly positioned Made to Engage as the tech.
• Creating and managing content for the Made to Engage site and social (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and monitoring performance in Google Analytics and Data Studio.
• Developing content and campaigns for clients across all channels including website, social media (paid and organic), email and more. For example, I managed a content rejuvenation project for payment solutions company.
• Learning about new industry trends (be it platforms, strategies or apps) to use on projects where relevant – for example, I got to grips with the latest update of the Episerver CMS to support a content migration.
• Collaborating with team leads from all sides of the business, from sales to tech, to create content plans that are aligned with business objectives and reach out to multiple audiences.

Holywood

• I headed up digital content/social media for MyNI, a digital transformation project for the NI Executive, which supported reform in the areas of farming, food waste and health. It won Best Digital Team at the Digital.
• Devising and executing paid and organic digital campaigns delivering government messages to diverse audiences in NI including farmers, graduates and people with chronic pain.
• Running paid social campaigns at low cost. For example, I developed content to help people with chronic pain manage their pain at home, thus reducing GP waiting lists for the Department Of Health. I obtained pain.
• Developing a social video campaign for DAERA encouraging farmers to switch to doing their accounts online or face a penalty, resulting in a 56% rise in users and praise from the client.
• Persuading the heads of government departments to make use of MyNI’s marketing potential through presentations explaining the benefits and regular conversations.
• Devising content strategies and user journeys across social, the MyNI site and NI Direct.

Belfast

• BBC Northern Ireland is the main public broadcaster in NI. I worked as a Researcher in factual TV, mainly on the regional team of BBC1’s The One Show. I also worked at Tern TV (an independent), where I continued to.
• Worked for 14 months as Development Researcher on The One Show Belfast team from 2012-14. We had 50 short VTs commissioned for the show, mainly history and ob doc formats.
• Around 20 of these One Show films were sourced, researched and pitched entirely by me. They included stories on aviation heroes, female spies and Britain's forgotten communities.
• Gained a reputation for top celeb bookings. I booked John Prescott, Jasper Carrott and the Kemp bros for the One Show's Our Street films which took stars back to where they grew up.
• Worked on other shows including Nolan Live, for which I found a woman with early-onset Alzheimer's who was happy to be interviewed live on air by Nolan - an exclusive for the show.
• Helped produce taster tapes for shows which were later commissioned including BBC2's Portillo's State Secrets, which developed my visual storytelling and video editing skills.

• Head (now part of Cognizant) was a top London digital agency. My responsibilities included:
• Created all UK web copy for Electrolux, AEG and Zanussi. My copy was so good at driving sales, it was translated into 10+ languages across EMEA, Asia and South America.
• Turned complex technical jargon into clear, engaging, SEO-friendly copy for web/social for clients including British Heart Foundation.
• Implemented social media, SEO strategies and mobile app content for British Gas.
• Worked closely with UX designers to develop user journeys and create user-friendly content.
• Gained reputation for strong presenting skills, winning the company's public speaking event.

London, United Kingdom

• Hearst Magazines is one of the world's largest publishers of content across all platforms, with more than 300 titles, including Prima and Inside Soap, and 240 websites.
• As Features Writer on Prima, I strengthened its position as a top-selling women's monthly by researching the readers' values and interests, and delivering content they connected with.
• Gained a reputation for sourcing compelling real-life stories from readers and PRs including a story about the boy who acquired the UK's first autism assistance dog. I also took responsibility for a celebrity tips.
• Deputised for Features Editor including managing work flow and leading planning meetings.

London, United Kingdom

• Interviewed TV stars (sometimes for the cover) on a daily basis and wrote sparkling showbiz content as Junior Writer for the UK's top-selling soap magazine.
• Visited the sets of several soaps to source juicy stories for the news pages.
• Helped to plan events for the magazine including the ever-popular Inside Soap Awards.

London

• In my early years as a journalist in London, I learned fast writing for a dizzying array of top-selling women’s magazines, newspaper supplements and music magazines.
• Worked daily shifts writing for OK!/Hot Stars, Reveal, Daily Mirror/3am, Sugar and Mizz. Interviewed A-list stars like Jessica Alba and wrote real life stories, self help features and more.
• Combined this with evening work as a music critic. Profiled pop stars for the cover of The Evening Standard's Metro Life mag and wrote interviews/reviews for Uncut and Hot Press.
• A music review I had published was featured in a Routledge Guide called Original Writing which is still used in schools to teach A’Level students to write creatively.
