Capitalizing on my career as an officer of the United States Air Force and as the founder/former executive director of the nonprofit Heard, I coach communities throughout the state of Ohio to help them address local challenges through hiring local artists. My program consists of six 90-minute online sessions where community participants identify their community need and artistic resources, create a foundational structure and budget, secure funding, and launch. As a result, one community expanded their community public art initiative and was awarded a $50,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Authored testimony for congressional hearing on military family support. Championed Air Force Reserve and active duty pay inequities that was passed by House Armed Services Committee. Led focus group to evaluate the Air Force mentoring program. Action officer for all education and training initiatives for an Education and Training Review Council. Prioritized and managed over 30 Air Force-wide initiatives to integrate advanced education into total force development. Prepared general officers for Air Force-level presentations.

Various Assignments

Public/media relations: • Led AF Public Affairs (PA) operations for several DOD initiatives. Implemented PA plan for first AF Expeditionary Force Experiment, showcasing spiral technology & other initiatives from initial announcement to experiment implementation. Directed creation of websites, videos, air show displays & other audio-visual products. Directed national media coverage, including Pentagon Press Corps, internal AF publicity & community relations, & advised/updated senior leadership. •Promoted AF 50th Anniversary at the Arizona State Fair. •Escorted AF Association president during military flight mission over Bosnia, arranged dual interview w/European Broadcasting System and Stars & Stripes. Created itineraries & talking points for general officer visits throughout Europe.Community Relations/Conferences: •Key organizer for Chiefs of Defense conference, hosted by the commander of US military Pacific forces, and attended by senior military officer from 16 Asia-Pacific nations, spouses, staff & defense attaches. Directed/integrated over 20 conference functions. Established organizational structure, managed ten guest speakers from five countries, supervised after action-program. •AF lead for national joint-service orientation tour for 60 key opinion leaders. Initiated/diagrammed intranet system that became fundamental to communications and follow-up. •Planned/executed PA Worldwide Professional Development Seminar with 250 officers, enlisted & civilians attending. Media training: •Director, Joint Information Bureau during several joint service exercises. Directed/organized media training w/television crews & reporters for senior joint staff members. Leadership: •Wrote script for Air Force family program video shown to all new commanders •Led TQM, Quality Air Force and strategic planning committees, earning “excellent” ratings •Developed comprehensive total force integration program for AF Services in the Pacific region.

•Resource advisor for 18 separate accounts that totaled over $4.5 million at Soesterberg Air Base, the Netherlands (now closed). Updated base leadership on school issues. Spearheaded student exchange between the base high school and students/chaperones from the Ukraine with extensive coordination among American, Dutch, and Ukrainian governments. •Wrote, edited, and narrated a 33-minute video educating all assigned officers on the new officer evaluation system. Project officer for a base-wide presentation, attended by over 1300 Air Force reservists and local VIPs.

Company Grade Officer Council secretary. •As a new second lieutenant, coordinated programs for ROTC cadets, American Heritage Week, Civil Air Patrol and group Air Force Assistance Fund, exceeding goal by 165%. Responsible for 30 base Spring Carnival resale booths and organized "SuperDay”, a series of contests among family and squadron teams. Co-organized four major theme parties at the Officers' Club. Hosted visiting foreign officers.
