I started working in high risk obstetrics as a graduate nurse in 2011. I started precepting nursing students at 1 year of experience, because every has to learn, and I like to teach. I had a bad Capstone experience, and I did not want that to happen to other students. My thirst for knowledge made me want master my specialty area, so at 2 years I became a Certified Inpatient Obstetrics Nurse (RNC-OB). At 2.5 years I started charging the unit. I love to lead, and it seemed like the right fit for me, and the unit responded well to my leadership. At 4 years I start my Master's program for Family Nurse Practitioner. At 5 years I became a Clinical Nursing Supervisor. I have just began my NP career in 2019 and took over as the supervisor of my group in 2021. I love being able to represent my team on a larger scale and bring a voice to Advanced Practice Providers. I also love being able to continue care for obstetrics patients. I’ve also become increasingly involved in our health equity campaigns, and I hope to bring more awareness and change for our black and brown women.
