TWD Academy is a non-profit high school in which to educate and employ high school drop-outs. Mecklenburg County alone had over 1800 drop outs and NC had more then 17,000 last year (2010 -2011 Acedemic year). 1 in 10 male drop-outs end up in prison and most reform to a life of crime or are forced to use the wellfare system due to lack of gainful employment.
