I spend my days helping individuals and small businesses: getting them out of sticky situations, resolving disputes, and protecting their rights and interests. The legal world can be complex and frightening to the lay person. My clients feel at ease because I explain the process every step of the way and because I'm accessible. When they need me, I'm there. As the owner of Manta Law, a Tampa Bay boutique firm, I focus on commercial litigation (disputes between businesses), consumer rights law (disputes between a consumer/patient and a debt collector/creditor/hospital/medical provider), and appellate law (family, probate, civil, and criminal). I have experience working for large firms and federal judges. In my current role, I have a close personal connection with my clients and the flexibility to offer affordable legal services. My educational background is in international relations and journalism. As a young journalist with the Associated Press in Miami, I reported on the Florida presidential recount in 2000. I decided to enter the legal field after seeing the important role lawyers played in the recount. After graduating from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where I served as an editor of the Florida Law Review, I worked in media law, representing television stations and newspapers on reporter subpoena, defamation, invasion of privacy, public records, advertising, sweepstakes, and intellectual property matters. I have represented clients in a variety of areas: defamation, privacy, consumer law, contracts, business torts, employment, real estate, commercial litigation, and intellectual property.
