Working in Communications and Marketing within Corporate Resources, I develop internal communications plans (including strategies for social media, branding, and the rollout of the company's new intranet) deliver content for internal and external news updates, press releases, internal newsletters, quarterly reports and more. I use the Adobe Creative Suite to create content in a variety of media. I liaise with executive, IT, and HR stakeholders to execute communications strategies, help choose external vendors for projects, and make decisions about communications platforms (content management systems, intranet modules, etc.). Finally, I am a contact point for employees for help with using the intranet and have assembled video tutorials and organized webinars and in-person training sessions to assist with employee intranet use.

In my communications role in an Assistant Deputy Minister's office with the Government of Alberta, I was responsible for liaising with the communications department and divisional branches to create excellent, timely documents intended for government employees, external stakeholders, and the public. I incorporated an understanding of public opinion and ongoing political issues into the drafting and editing of all documents. I developed and issued a monthly divisional newsletter using the Adobe Creative Suite, which ranged in content from current policy initiatives to committee and office events to health and wellness articles. I helped develop internal communications plans and reviewed and drafted speaking notes, briefing notes, reviewed marketing materials, and a variety of other documents

My experience with Castle Rock Research included editing study guides for students ranging from grades 3-12 and in all primary subject areas. I was a major writing contributor for the company's Ontario English Grade 9 study guide, and contributed significantly in developing and refining Castle Rock's in-house style manual.

As a proofreader with the Edmonton Sun, I worked with copy editors and reporters to produce the most accurate, error-free paper possible on a daily basis.
