"What do you want to do when you grow up?"Being asked this just after my 28th birthday, while at first taking me by surprise, led me on the path to becoming a career coach. Since 2003 I have lived and worked my passion to help others transition careers and unlock their potential. Transitioning from working as a teacher, and the experiences I gathered since, would not have been possible without a career coach.To me, nothing is so fulfilling as helping someone to confidently choose a career path that not only matches what is professionally most important to them, but also positively impacts on all aspects of their life, particularly self-confidence and wellbeing.My path has led to Max Coaching and assisting professionals and athletes to plan their next career move. Our programs at are aligned with the Australian Blueprint for Career Development, national career frameworks and evidence-based models and theories, and I was honoured to be awarded the Australian Career Practitioner of the Year in 2013 for excellence in career practice.In particular we provide career transition support to:◊ industry professionals who are already making their mark but are not entirely satisfied in their current role or career direction◊ professional athletes to plan for their next or parallel career◊ emergency services workers in transitionIt continues to be a source of great satisfaction rewarding to work with a range of sporting organisations in Australia and internationally. We help design programs for athlete career, education and wellbeing as well as software that underpins these programs and provides reporting on impact.

Consulting Project: Nrl Careerwise Program
In 2011 we partnered with NRL/RLPA Welfare and Education to design and deliver career programs to elite players from the U16s through to retiring NRL players.This program, "NRL CareerWise" has won a national best practice excellence award and has been presented at international conferences as well as adopted by the Rugby Football League in the UK.The program is delivered to over 5000 rugby league athletes across the elite pathway from the Under 15s to retired NRL. Within 5 years, the NRL CareerWise program saw 87% of all NRL and NYC players actively engaged in career planning and education.In December 2018 Professor David Lavallee published research on the NRL CareerWise program showing that engagement in sport career transition planning enhances performance.
