Currently, she leads the HR operations of Caribbean Airlines Limited implementing many strategic initiatives throughout the organisation to embolden teams and employees toward achieving the objectives Caribbean Airlines to their fullest potential.She has served on a Cabinet appointed Task Force (TF) charged with reviewing and making proposals toward the implementation of TVET and CVQ in Secondary Schools and was the Chairman of two sub-committees of the TF, and was also Lead Editor of the final report which was submitted and accepted by the then Minister of Education Hazel Manning. She has a significant presence in the media and is a well-known expert on Personal Development and Human Resources, appearing on several local morning television talk shows - CNC 3 Morning Show (2) and CNMG First Up (6). Janel was also one of the presenters of the HRMATT Forum - a radio show on the popular I95.5FM where she explored topical HR and social development issues.Both the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Institute of Psychological Assessment Technicians (IPAT) of Chicago IL certified her as a psychometric evaluator (Level A & B; 16PF). She is also a national subject matter expert on Competency Development, TVET, Competency Mapping, PLAR, NLP and E-learning. She graduated from the University of the West Indies (UWI) with a BSc. Degree (U-2nd - Hons) in Sociology and Psychology in 1998. In 2012, she graduated from the University of Leicester (UK) with a Masters of Science degree in Human Resource Development. I maintain interpersonal contact and daily communication with Executives, Managers, Legal counsel, and external stakeholders.As Executive Manager, HR Business Support I was appointed by the CEO to serve as Chairman of Caribbean Airlines Limited COVID Response Committee from March 2020 to June 2023. As Chairman I lead a 23-member team that worked internally to create policies and systems to protect employees, customers and passengers against the risk associated with travel and operations. CAL has an 80% vaccination rate and a 100% Vaccination rate among Pilots and Flight Attendants. CAL was also awarded Platinum Accreditation by the Association of Passenger Experience (APEX) for benchmark safety systems to protect staff and passengers.We worked closely with the Ministry of Health and the CMO for MOHTT to create the Guidance to all Aircraft Crew Members in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and Trinidad and Tobago Border Reopening on July 17, 2021.
