I am a certified pediatric nurse practitioner with over 18 years of primary care experience. I have recently joined the medical team of providers at the TRUE Clinic At Children’s Hospital of Colorado Adolescent Medicine, providing gender affirming care for children, adolescents, and young adults.My nurse practitioner career journey started in Central Florida. I had the pleasure of working with the physicians and nurse practitioners at Altamonte Pediatrics in Altamonte Springs, Florida for almost 7 years.During my time with Altamonte Pediatrics, apart from seeing a full patient load of sick and well children from 0-21 years old, I was given the opportunity to develop and implement the "Fit Kid Club" program for the practice. I managed and treated overweight and obese kids. I was an active board member for the Florida Chapter of NAPNAP for six years, two of which I served as President. Additionally, I precepted pediatric nurse practitioner students from the University of Central Florida, and also served as an adjunct clinical instructor for the University's Family Nurse Practitioner Program Spring of 2011. In addition to my clinical practice, I was (and remain per diem) as a medical accuracy reviewer for grant-funded projects through the Office of Adolescent Health and the Department of Health and Human Services. I have also had the pleasure of working as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Denver area at Mountainland Pediatrics for over 10 years. I first started with Mountainland only part time while also working part time at the Baker Clinic and the Adams City High School Wellness Center; both of which are owned by the non-profit organization, Kids First Health. The University of Colorado, College of Nursing, was my employer for these clinic positions as a preceptor for the CU PNP students. I served as president of the Colorado Rocky Mountain Chapter NAPNAP July 2012 to June 2013. I remained an active Board member from July 2012 to June 2015 and currently as a Chapter member.
