Whether it's creating short clips and trailers or hooky copy, the process of creating dynamic content to a house style uses my core skills and experience I have built up as a scriptwriter. I'm writing a children's book for ITN as well as producing internal comms, events and social media content. I was project manager for the #ITN65 microsite run in conjunction with Broadcast magazine in 2020.

Co-founded with Virginia Orr, our first drama project THEY THEM US has been picked up by OUTtv and selected by TV Festival Série Series for it's Spotlight on Trailers strand in 2020. With two award-winning short films on our slate, we are developing comedy and scripted podcasts and actively looking to work with brands to create content.

A screenwriter of over 15 years, I established Donut Films with producer Virginia Orr and have produced, written and directed award-winning short films DANCING ALONE, TAKE ME BACK and, TV Pilot THEY THEM US. Our latest film CARTWHEEL was shot in July 2021 and is now starting its festival life.I have been working in the TV industry since joining the the story office at Coronation Street in 2004. Since then I have written over 50 episodes of continuing drama on some of the UK's most-watched shows including EASTENDERS and DOCTORS for the BBC, THE BILL and BAD GIRLS for ITV, and HOLLYOAKS for Channel 4. My focus since then has been developing original series and filmmaking.I was one of 15 writers selected by MediaXchange for its Advanced TV Writing course. The programme comprises three blocks of masterclasses and drama development support from industry professionals delivered over 18 months. As part of the course I have written the pilot episode of my project, BREAKING POINT, a returnable character-led crime drama. The final part of the course took place in Los Angeles.

Since my work experience on the sports desk at The Independent newspaper in 1997 after my course at the London College of Printing, I have been working as a freelance journalist with a stint working in-house at Broadcast Magazine from 2001 to 2004 where I was editor of Broadcast International, as well as feature writer and deputy features editor on the weekly paper. During this time I have written in-depth features, interviews, reviews, comment pieces and analysis for UK broadsheets, local papers, consumer and trade magazines including The Guardian, Independent, ACE tennis magazine, Screen International, World Screen News, JUMP! and the Ham & High. As well as standalone features, I have also edited the BBC's Wimbledon Magazine and overseen anniversary supplements for Broadcast magazine (UKTV, ITV and C4 supplements) and chaired selection meetings for the Broadcast Awards.
Having attended Faber's Writing for Children course with Anthony McGowan, I have completed my first Young Adult novel I MISS YOU ALREADY, which I am adapting for screen. Russell T Davies: "A dedicate, witty picture of modern life, containing some great turns of style and gorgeous classic observations on life. I loved it because it just feels real."Stella Duffy: "Jane Marlow offers a clear and insightful take on the joyful, dirty, messy, sexy, intimate and often profoundly dysfunctional round of modern relationships.... She paints a version of love and lust that is gratifyingly honest in its intricacies, thoughtful in its language - A Midsummer Night's Dream with career, finances and property as the meddling fairies."THE SUFFRAGETTE was part of an collection of short stories, GROUNDSWELL, edited by Helen Sandler and published by Diva Books in 2002 alongside stories by Ali Smith, Jackie Kay and Jenny Roberts.

I developed a series of stories and songs called ParkPups for children age 3+ which feature a group of loveable dogs that meet in their local park and is brought to life by the wonderful illustrator and Cambridge graduate, Anna Todd. As part of the ParkPups project, I have appeared at the Lollibop Festival at the QE Olympic Park in the Roald Dahl tent reading our stories, playing age-appropriate games linked to the stories and leading sing-alongs. I have also appeared at Earls Court for the Kennel Club's Discover Dogs show, the Latitude Festival and many smaller events in schools, fairs and community days. Our first story in the ParkPups series, FRAZZLE'S FAVOURITE NUMBER, was selected as Mumnet's first ever ebook giveaway in 2013 and electronic versions of our stories and songs are available online at ParkPups.com where there is an online audio version of the story, original songs as well as activity books to download. Print copies of our first three titles - Frazzle's Favourite Number, M is for Masher & BooBoo's Boat Trip are available via Amazon and Waterstones. We collaborated with Dogs Trust on our fourth title, Bertie Makes a New Friend, which is the charity's official story companion for its 'Be Dog Smart' campaign aimed at teaching children how to interact safely around dogs.
