Currently the Chair of Holland & Hart’s Trial Practice, I have successfully represented clients in hundreds of trade secret, patent, trademark, copyright and commercial cases. With an interest and focus on intellectual property disputes, I have obtained injunctive relief and damages to enforce the valuable IP rights of my clients and defended infringement claims brought against them, winning numerous complex jury trials and bench trials in both IP and commercial litigation business disputes. I have advised sophisticated in-house counsel across multiple industries and represented clients in complex cases in federal courts around the country.One of my strengths in handling Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) work is an in-depth understanding of the critical legal issues, gained through more than three decades of experience as a trial lawyer in a wide variety of commercial and IP cases. I have the ability to quickly review, assimilate, and analyze the relevant facts and controlling law to get to the heart of the dispute efficiently and decide the salient issues fairly and expeditiously. To help reduce arbitration expenses, the mock courtroom at my law firm is available for arbitration hearings at no charge to the parties.In light of my trial experience, I have developed a national reputation for utilizing the necessary “hard” and “soft” skills that help clients resolve their disputes successfully in mediation.
