Singer, Accompanist, Teacher, Arranger, Author.I started teaching piano lessons during high school and have enjoyed a lifelong music career in parallel to my business career ever since.I’ve been a regular church soloist for more than 25 years, performed as a classical vocal soloist, as a folk musician, with choral groups and small ensembles. I’ve also accompanied singers and instrumentalists, created musical arrangements, taught piano, voice, and music theory, and written about music topics.After getting a solid classical music foundation, I’ve explored and performed a range of styles, including folk and jazz. While primarily a singer and pianist, I’ve also dabbled with several other instruments I use to accompany myself, including guitar and, my favorite, the folk harp.Studying, performing and teaching music has not only been a joy in my life, but made me a better business professional, talent developer, and human.

In my role as SVP, I was responsible for HBO Sales & Marketing with National Accounts and one of the cable industry’s largest operators, Charter Communications. Previous roles with HBO were as Regional Vice President, Regional Director, Regional Manager, and Regional Marketing Coordinator. I was based first in Dallas and then in Chicago. In these roles, I was responsible for up to $320 million annual revenue, annual budgets reaching $7 million, operation of two regional offices and a staff of 40. I negotiated complex long-term multi-million dollar affiliation agreements and was also a key strategist and negotiator for a long-term $1.2 billion deal. During this time, we achieved distribution for four new cable television networks and multiple product extensions. We collaborated with affiliates to design and implement integrated marketing campaigns, along with sales training and incentives to maximize results. Highlights of my 25-year cable industry career included pioneering innovative deal and organizational structures, collaboration with business partners to improve productivity and cultivate new ideas, and development and leadership of high-performing teams. I became interested in leadership development when I participated in WICT’s year-long Betsy Magness Leadership Institute in conjunction with the Center for Creative Leadership. Throughout my HBO career I also participated actively in industry associations, serving as a Board Member for the Cable Television & Communications Association of Illinois and the Michigan Cable Television Association, as well as the College of DuPage Foundation. I was a member of leadership groups that established the Chicago Cable Marketing Council, Women in Cable chapters in Dallas and Houston, and the Chicago CTAM chapter. I served as an advisor to the WICT Chicago chapter, as well as an advisor to the Michigan State University Department of Telecommunication.
