Performed marketing functions for a medical billing company. Wrote and coordinated large RFP/Requests for Proposals for local and state agencies to obtain contracts for CCSB. Website, advertising and client contact.Also became proficient in the actual billing processes and excelled in customer service to patients and clients. Worked well with others in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment. This job required attention to detail and adherence to regulation and laws in regards to reimbursement and billing. Performed some accounting functions as well, balancing and inputting insurance payments.

In charge of developing the website www.jems.com. Worked with the website designer to develop a new design for the site and to organize the material within the site. Implemented a monthly e-mail (called Infomail) to alert subscribers to new information available on the website. Multi-tasking, record keeping and customer service was always needed. Visitors to the site increased from 1,000 per month to approximately 24,000 per month. Worked very closely with and for the Marketing department. Extensive computer skills for, both Mac and PC platforms, including Database experience. Company moved to Downtown San Diego.

Supervised up to six employees/graphic artists and one marketing coordinator. In charge of producing six publications (two monthly, one quarterly and one bi-monthly). Also in charge of producing all in-house advertisements and client advertisements as needed. Worked very closely with the printing companies to ensure all deadlines were met. Coordinated all marketing, magazine and newsletter production for the company. Extensive computer work and client contact as well as record keeping for the department. Deadline oriented environment. Managed a 2 million dollar budget for magazine, newsletter and brochure printing.

Coordinated ad placement and layout for three publications. Worked closely with the Art Director and Advertising Managers as well as the Editorial Department. Made publication layouts for each magazine and checked all blue line proofs for printing. Also worked closely with printers to ensure all deadlines were met or exceeded. Learned many computer programs on both Macintosh and PC platforms. Was the recipient of the 1994 Jems Communications Employee of the Year award given to one employee by his/her peers. Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Quark X-press, Photoshop and Illustrator experience.

Assisted the Advertising Manager with client contact, designing advertisements and compiling the annual Buyer's Guide. Sold classified advertisements for two publications.

There was extensive client contact, contracts, recordkeeping and basic office duties. Met with clients in regards to meeting space and group rates for hotel rooms. Summer job.
