I work as a consultant in BIM and digital collaboration within the field of transportation, with a primary focus on major structures, particularly bridges. My role involves using methods and tools to optimize processes related to the planning, design, and execution of bridge projects. A key part of my job is to employ parametric and computational design techniques to address complex challenges associated with bridge design. This entails developing models and algorithms capable of generating design alternatives and automating processes. By utilizing BIM and digital tools, the goal is to optimize constructions within construction projects, resulting in cost savings and improved project quality.

I gained practical experience in project planning and on-site construction work. I developed carpentry skills, both for interior and exterior framework construction. The building has a complex geometry with many different angles, which required precision from the craftsman. The floor structures were constructed using post-tensioned concrete decks, and the combination of these two construction processes placed extra emphasis on detailed planning and efficient logistics.

Summer job as a project engineer on the SKIR project, which is a residential and commercial development. The project was completed in 2021 and consists of 180 owner-occupied apartments. I gained practical experience in project planning (LEAN). The projectleaders had a strong commitment to continuous improvement, streamlining operations, and maximizing resource utilization to deliver value to customers.

While working as a tank commander, I also served as an instructor from my first year in the role. The course lasted for 3 weeks and initially provided a fundamental technical understanding of how tanks operate. It then included the following:Military tactics: How to operate in the battlefield, conduct attacks and defenses, and collaborate with other units.Communication: The tank driver had to effectively communicate with other crew members and units on the battlefield using radio and intercom systems.Navigation and map reading: Training on how to navigate using maps, compasses, and GPS systems to locate objectives and positions in the terrain.Eventually, I was assigned the role of the lead instructor, which made me entirely responsible for planning and overseeing the courses.

As a tank commander, I was the leader of a team consisting of one driver, one shooter and eight soldiers. I had the main responsibility for making the strategic decisions on the tank, communicate with the other units and ensure safety. This position gave me experience with how to cooperate in and develop teams, and also the ability to perform leadership in a variety of complex situations. I led half-yearly maintenance twice, which involved management of equipment with an estimated value of over NOK 200 million.
