Recent graduate and newly minted software developer. With a BCS from Dalhousie University, a certificate in Data Science, and co-op experience, I am ready and eager to learn about all things software, machine learning, and future sustainable tech endeavours. I have co-op experience in both software development and software testing. My love of development takes the forefront, but I believe you have to know what makes software bad in order to be able to make something good. In computer science, there’s never a dull moment and I genuinely enjoy learning new skills. I have taken a range of courses from web development to NLP to cryptography, just for the joy of figuring out how things work. I completed each of my co-ops with different companies, in different sectors, and in different roles so that I could get a better feel of the field and all that it contains. I have been taking online intro courses in different programming languages for over 7 years and I would be willing to argue that there is no feeling better than finally figuring out that missing piece to solve the problem at hand. If you know, you know.I want my work to be meaningful and have a real impact, especially for something that is of high value to me. My biggest passions are everything in the realm of climate change and sustainability. Many of my elective courses were in environmental fields so that I could deepen my understanding of the science behind current issues and see where I could make an impact. I always love to hear about the newest innovations created by advances in computer science. This field is nothing if not full of opportunity and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store.
