I have over 30 years experience in Education Management. My in-school career included 3 leadership positions (2 Deputy Headships and one short-term acting Headship). The last 13 years of my in-school experience was within the independent sector as a School Development Manager. Each leadership role required managing change and delivering improvement in areas like staff development, parental liaison (regarding conflict resolution in particular), marketing, SENCO role and retention and admissions.My work in school extended well beyond just excellent teaching. As well as experience of putting policy into practice, the programmes I led resulted in improvements in the health and well being of young people aged between 2 and 16 years.Now as a full time personal tutor, I remain committed to help build self-esteem in young people. My work provides a pathway for success in a child's challenging areas of learning. This is done in conjunction with parents and the school (if necessary), by designing tailored teaching programmes delivered to foster an enjoyment and love of learning.
