No matter what type of problem it would be from a Clinical no access issue to a GP needing last minute rota cover. I’ve been resolute in finding all kinds of answers to ensure that all staff can carry on working effectively throughout the working week.I have developed my skillset to bring confidence to the workplace enabling colleagues to be confident in knowing that they are supported by someone that thrives on finding solutions. I have continued to support educators, encourage trainees and new staff alike to take on their roles. I am mindful that my skillset can help me achieve all that I can aspire too.

    My main role is to produce a fully comprehensive report outlining the position of every patient that has had a test requested by a cardiologist at the hospital. These include internal and external tests and must be ready for publication every week, this must be completed for the OMDT meetings held and attended by all senior clinicians and heads of departments. I achieve this by coordinating the tests requested by the Cardiologists, confirming that the tests have been requested on ICE and that the patient attends the booked appointment. Making sure that all the tests are reported on and corresponding results are sent to requesting consultant within the given timeframe. Checking that all patients and GP's receive their result letter and ensuring that this is all completed within the 18 week pathway.This also can highlight all requested tests that have not been booked, all tests that have not been reported on and all patients that have not had an outcome letter. This also includes all external tests requested and confirms to the management team exactly where these requests are in the process. This can safeguard patient flow throughout the Heart and Chest department ensuring that delays are reduced and making sure that patient's receive the right care at the right time. This is proven to have a significant beneficial effect on the quality of care patients receive. In turn, it has improved patient outcomes and reduced the cost of care.
