Orana Juvenile Justice Centre accommodates males, mainly from the Central and Far West areas of NSW, who are on control orders or remanded in custody. The centre offers a range of health, educational and spiritual services to the young people, including individual case management, specialised counselling, and training in job and living skills.In my role as Centre Manager, I was responsible for the overall management of a 45-bed juvenile offender facility including the safety and security of detainees that were accommodated, duty of care to nearly 100 staff including justice, health, direct care and education staff and responsible for a significant budget of approximately $2M/year.
