After graduating I joined the Civil Service in 1991, starting at the Employment Department, initially on a busy enquiry point at the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) in Bristol and then at Wimbledon Employment Service taking new claims.I started working in Guildford in 1996 at the Government Office for the South East (GOSE) when it opened and continued working there until its closure in 2011. At GOSE I worked mostly on European ERDF and ESF funding programmes and latterly on the Regional Resilience Team.I joined UKTI South East in March 2011 and, as well as being Executive Assistant to the Regional and Deputy Regional Directors, I organise Ministerial visits to the region and write briefing for Ministers and senior UKTI officials.
