I worked with representatives of the Pleasanton Police Department, collaborating on their drug and alcohol resistance education (DARE) program presentations to middle school students. I also participated in several curriculum development committees, and served as a school representative to our district's Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards curriculum development meetings.As science department chair, I represented the science department's interests and needs in our school wide department chair/administration meetings. I relayed concerns and information regarding calendaring, budget and teaching strategies to and from our administration to my department members. I also completed required documentation related to cost recovery for mandated programs implemented at Harvest Park, such as Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) and HIV/AIDS education.
