Roman Empire Living Skills works directly with the Regional Centers in California to provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities. These services assist the individual to become more self-advocated and independent with every day life including tasks and skills at home and in the community. As the resource trainer, I provide new hire training as well as additional professional development training and classes for the educators working directly with the clients. Using my skills and knowledge, my role is to ensure each new educator is prepared to do their job successfully and provide ongoing guidance, support, and training as needed. This includes research and development of the training content as well as preparing the presentation slides and materials. Most training is conducted virtually through Zoom or Microsoft Teams with some in-person training requiring preparation and travel to California.

Started as a caregiver, moved into the office as training coordinator, and soon my position transitioned into manager including management of all training, recruitment, hiring, and the onboarding process of new caregivers and supervisor to the hiring specialist. Also teaching ongoing professional development training classes for existing caregivers in Alzheimer’s & Other Dementias, Hospice & Palliative Care, & Parkinson’s disease as well as planning and providing training for caregivers from outside industry partners. Screening applicants and conducting interviews of caregiver candidates as well as other Human Resource functions for caregivers. Providing assistance with new client inquiries, care consultations, & client quality assurance visits. Planning and implementing quarterly caregiver meetings & newsletter. Participating in community events for recruitment of caregivers and clients to help grow the business. Providing assistance with scheduling of caregivers and participating in on-call rotation. Experience and working knowledge of Applicant Stack, PreIntent, ClearCare, Empower, Salesforce, Zoom, and all Microsoft programs as well as many hiring platforms.

Worked out of the Arizona office meeting with individual clients identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to provide behavior intervention services consisting of skill acquisition and data collection using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Teacher in the preschool classroom of Wirtzie's Child Development Center on the campus of Benevilla. : Assisted lead teacher with lesson plans, observations, behavior management, and implementation of curriculum.

Met with families to qualify and enroll children for the state preschool. Ongoing responsibilities included maintaining children’s files, contact lists, and enrollment for assigned classes. Continually followed-up with families in regards to enrollment, attendance, and community referrals. Management of teachers to ensure classes remained fully enrolled. Processed and inputted various weekly/monthly attendance and enrollment/meal report data. Planned and presented at parent meetings and staff trainings. Assisted in the development and processing of other reports, memos, forms, and spreadsheets as required. Participated in community outreach along with the planning and implementing of recruitment activities and events. Instruction of enrollment/teaching staff on essential enrollment functions.
