Seeds Ministry is a new outreach program to provide Catholic sacrament preparation for students and adults with special needs. Seeds provides services not just at Madonna School but cooperates with the Archdiocese of Omaha to assist and/or consult within parishes.

As a sales associate I guide teachers, parents, and grandparents in purchasing appropriate educational materials and toys for classroom and home use as well as for gift-giving.

In the role of Campus Minister I scheduled the Friday and holy day Masses; coordinated with the priests, teachers, and Madonna administration; performed sacristan duties; prepped the readings; and provided music as needed. I also met one-on-one with students and adult clients for sacrament preparation and coordinated with pastors for a Sacrament Mass in our chapel each spring.In addition, I continue to maintain the Library for the use of high school and transition students.

When Madonna School added a Media Center in the summer of 2019, I signed on as the Media/Library teacher. I've had additional Media coursework besides a degree in K-12 Special Education. It was a pleasure teaching keyboarding and library skills to students whose main exposure to technology had been I-Pads. In the summer of 2020, in response to a need at Madonna, I was certified as a Catholic Religion teacher through Franciscan University online. I've also been a mandated lector and EMHC for the Archdiocese of Omaha for many years. In August 2020 I began teaching Religion to the high school and transition students (along with Media/Library) and added individual sacrament preparation.

I trained parents and grandparents in the Common Sense Parenting program for toddlers and elementary-school children. It was rewarding to see parents leave the program with greater calm and confidence in their parenting skills.

I started my career in education as a substitute para-professional for Ralston Public Schools and thoroughly enjoyed my experiences in those buildings. It was a natural choice for me to return there when I needed flexible hours to complete my practicum and coursework to become a teacher.

I was responsible for small group instruction in reading and math, and one-on-one instruction in handwriting and math. I especially enjoyed working one-on-one with ELL and students with special needs. I worked with grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th.
