Aspire Massage Training was founded as a response to both the Government’s Dementia Challenge and a strong desire to honour a much loved family member who had a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease. We provide bespoke massage training to health staff who regularly care for and support Older People and those with Dementia, working in Care Homes and those in an acute hospital setting. The directors have extensive experience in Health, Social Care and Complementary Therapies. We constantly strive to promote dignity and respect being Dignity Champions, Dementia Friends and Dementia Champions. Research has shown that just 10 minutes of massage stimulation calms the sympathetic nervous system for patients who may be agitated due to Dementia, leaving them in a calmer state. Our training can also enable people to improve communication and interaction and most importantly their experience of being in unfamiliar surroundings. Our training also includes the opportunity for staff to explore the use of exercise, activities and music as part of the patient’s care whilst in hospital and we can provide additional follow up mentoring sessions where staff can access further advice and support.Aspire Massage Training can assist your staff to provide compassionate care, part of the 6Cs, important guidelines for health staff, and to really make a difference.
