I have over 20 years' experience litigating complex, high stakes business disputes. I have litigated on behalf of investors against leading financial institutions for hundreds of millions in investment losses. I develop creative strategies to drive effectively to the heart of the liability in these cases. I have also defended complex commercial class actions nationwide involving, in part, anti-trust, consumer fraud, and employment claims. I served as lead attorney in an overtime class action case; lead attorney in the defense of a nationwide gender discrimination case; and lead attorney in the defense of an age discrimination class action. Representing plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes litigation for over 20 years gives me a unique vantage point to develop case strategy and obtain excellent results. I have participated in the joint strategic defense of multi-venue class actions involving numerous parties, collateral bankruptcy proceedings, and have appeared before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. On behalf of plaintiffs, I was part of the team that achieved a $7.5 billion antitrust settlement on behalf of a class of approximately seven million U.S. merchants who accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards and debit cards for the purchase of goods and services.I am committed to community service and have served the American Heart Association for many years in various leadership roles including the Chairman of the Board of Directors (Twin Cities Chapter), and Corporate Finance and Operations Coordinating Committee Member (Midwest Affiliate). I am on the Board of Directors, Chair Elect, for Teens Alone, and am a former Board Member for the Minnesota Housing Partnership.
