Janet Cord is a Partner in the New York office of Ladas & Parry LLP.I have wide-ranging experience in the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and non-US patent applications in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, biochemistry, chemistry and medical devices for companies and universities. In addition, I practice and write on privacy law issues. I have drafted and negotiated global license agreements and material transfer agreements with a focus on health care. I carry out due diligence for licensing, mergers and acquisitions and financial investments and advise clients on issues relating to marketing of products including clinical testing and marketing of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology products, medical devices and medical test kits in the U.S. and abroad.I am a co-chair of the newly formed Intellectual Property Committee of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York and was formerly the chair of the Fundraising Committee of that organization. Recently, we had a number of exciting meetings. I have been reappointed as a Vice-Chair of International Patent Law and Trade Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association. One of my responsibilities is to identify IP professionals who would like to speak to the committee. I am also a member of ChIPs.
