This is based on stats compiled from an ongoing Client Engagement survey that has now been collecting data for three years. During that time, my clients had 188 successful outcomes - defined as the sum of new businesses started (24 in my case) plus the number of new jobs created (164). That placed me ninth out of 49 volunteers in the San Francisco chapter, and in the top 10% of all SCORE volunteers nationally.

Furman Sound is a manufacturer of power conditioning and distribution products, as well as professional audio products. I started Furman with only an idea for an initial product and little cash. Over the years, I served as chief executive, design engineer, and director of marketing. At the time of the company's acquisition in 1999, Furman had about 75 employees, over 100 products, and $10 million in annual sales. Today, Furman is a strategic partner with Panamax in the power conditioning industry. Both companies are divisions of Nortek Corp.

Traveled with the Grateful Dead and other rock bands, making on-location 16 track recordings at venues around the world.
