Succeeded in getting an extensive feature in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on the architectural firm HOK's 35 years of international work; a feature in the New York Times on a small local real estate developer who turned a school into retirement housing; and extensive local, regional and national media coverage for the U.S. Olympic Festival-'94, as well as many articles in major trade and business publications for HOK, and several manufacturing companies.Wrote and edited newsletters, brochures, booklets and speeches. Planned and implemented special media events, including the kickoff in Downtown St. Louis of the Festival's torch run that included political and community leaders as well as past Olympians and sports stars.Developed crisis communications plans and comprehensive annual PR plans for clients. The annual plan for one business-to-business client achieved a 30% reduction in sales lead costs due to an increased, aggressive publicity effort. A two-year comprehensive PR and Advertising plan that I created for the U.S. Olympic Festival was vital in the Festival's attracting a record number of attendees. Supervised such community outreach programs as speakers' bureaus. Served as supervisor to professional and administrative staff.From 2001 to 2007, sold real estate, using my marketing skills to sell homes quickly and my interpersonal skills to keep clients happy.
