The Bureau represents 1,600 growers and develops national and international markets for Northwest pear distribution.Experienced in program compliance, I was responsible for ensuring that my organization complied with the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) regulations for program implementation. I was responsible for the implementation of government funding, while managing the industry's Unified Export Strategy and representatives/offices in more than 40 countries. In my role, I directed the contract process to ensure the timely and accurate development and approval of contracts. I also interacted with the government on issues relating to program and activity implementation, including funding and activity modifications.I was responsible for four audits of programs and activities conducted yearly. Additionally, I oversaw the submission of the annual funding request and Country Progress Reports. I also trained overseas staff as needed to ensure compliance with mandated fraud prevention guidelines.
